Request for co-sponsors: one more LAD budget amendment, please

Ok, after Jessi's explanation of why she made the motions for the policy committee this close to the meeting, I think she's right, and with such big decisions happening at this meeting, we should give ourselves as much time as possible to get those done.

With that, I'm seeking co-sponsors and votes in favor on a motion to do what I hope will be the last amendment necessary to the Legislative Action Department budget.

Long story short, this amendment will be budget neutral, but will allow our accounting department to categorize things the most correctly. I was made aware that we are also responsible for a portion of utilities at LAD HQ in addition to our rent, and also that, because we got such a late start, we are only contracted with Kevin for 5 months, not 6. With that:

"Be it moved that the 2025 LPTexas budget be amended in the following ways:
  • Staff Compensation be decreased from $18,000 to $16,000
  • Legislative Headquarters be increased from $10,000 to $12,000"
This will give a little bit of buffer in both of the categories as well. Your support on this motion is much appreciated and I'm happy to answer any questions you have to facilitate your support.
